She grew up in Japan…and in case you were wondering, she’s actually not Asian at all. However, with her beautiful, almond shaped eyes, you might think so. Courtney is a natural beauty. You know, one of those girls that just wakes up looking amazing. Her hair could be a hot mess…no makeup on and wearing baggy sweatpants and the girl would still look incredible! She makes all of us that have to work at it, a little more than frustrated! But don’t hate just because of her beautiful looks, she’s also amazing on the inside too! Wait…that didn’t make you feel any better, did it? Oops.

Courtney graduated from UGA recently and is moving on to get her Masters degree and get married! HOLLA! She and her fiance are so supportive of me and so much fun to be around. (And did I mention they are both very good looking?) I just want to follow them around with my camera all day…

Courtney, I’ll miss you!

When you have two children named Celine and Pepper–you know you’re cool. Srsly.

I was fortunate enough to finally meet up with Rebecca and her family recently in Athens for a photo shoot. Rebecca knew Spencer when he was just a boy and has been a huge supporter of our journey…and now, of me. Extremely creative herself, I can proudly say I’ve met my first official glass blower. Yes–she knows how to blow glass! I mean, how many people can say that?!? This is just one of her many creative outlets she’s pursued over her life. I can honestly say that some of the cooler shots of the day were her brain-child!

Her girls are beautiful and funny…and so very “tween”! Her husband looks like The Rock and can make some of the funniest faces I’ve seen!

Faithful and encouraging, I felt so blessed to finally get a chance to hang out with them! I’d also been dying to shoot in a new location I will admit, one shot was inspired by another local photographer (thanks Frankie for the inspiration!).

So the rumor is now officially true: after falling off a 6 INCH high toy at school, Xander has broken his leg. Dr. Oswald, the pediatric orthopedist, did one quick exam on him, hit the “sweet spot” (my words not his) and figured it out. He ordered a couple more x-rays just to be sure. Sure thing. Hairline fracture of his right tibia. Whoopee! (she says sarcastically).

My son is not yet two (he turns 2 on April 9th) and he’s already broken a leg…is this a sign of things to come? Should I be worried?!? I mean, I broke and dislocated my elbow at 10, but that’s because I was clumsy…not a daredevil. Perhaps he’ll be an amazing professional something or other: snowboarder, football player, soccer player, cyclist, dancer…wait…forget that last one.

When it came time for the cast, I asked the doctor for hot pink and they looked at me like I was crazy! What? My son can’t have a pink cast?!? What kind of world is this!?! Ok…so I wouldn’t really put him in a pink cast. He got black.

Honestly, my little man is taking it in stride. He doesn’t like the huge black thing on his leg, but he’s got the best disposition regardless.

Here he is cheesing it up for the camera (and all the while remaining modest). We make life fun…even with broken bones!

ps-I still believe in God’s promises (even if he didn’t answer this prayer!)

Hey friends and family! I’m in search of a male and female senior model…as in, senior in high school (or close enough in age)…sorry to all those over 30 that thought I was refering to you. tee hee.

If you are chosen, you will be given an 8×10 of the best shot as well as 10 of the best images on a CD with rights to print or post all over facebook and myspace (assuming you give me some credit ). I mean, high school is terrible enough as it is, why not have some hottie (but modest) pictures of yourself to show off to your friends!
